Today, it is a place of stunning natural beauty, where you can experience the crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and dramatic gorges. The river offers several activities such as:

  • River trekking: Walk through the shallow parts of the river and explore its cool, refreshing waters surrounded by high cliffs and lush vegetation.
  • Kayaking and canoeing: Paddle through the serene waters, enjoying the tranquility and scenic views.
  • Horseback riding: Several local companies offer horseback riding tours along the riverbanks, providing a unique way to experience the area’s natural beauty.
  • Swimming: Find a quiet spot to enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the Acheron, which remain cool even during the hot summer months.

After exploring the Acheron River, head back to Preveza for a relaxing evening.

Evening in Preveza

After a day of beach-hopping, head back to Preveza town to experience its vibrant dining scene. For dinner, consider visiting Treli Garida, a popular seafood restaurant known for its delicious shrimp dishes.
